Which States Can You Ride Without A Helmet in 2022?

As of 2022, 33 states require helmets for motorcycle riders, while three states don't have any laws regarding helmet use.

States that have not yet enacted any statewide helmet laws may still allow riders to wear helmets under conditions.

Alabama, Idaho, Missouri, and Oklahoma are some such states.

Currently, only a handful of states have statewide helmet laws in the place where you are allowed to ride unhelmeted.

These three states are Illinois, Iowa, and New Hampshire.

As of 2022, these states will be the only ones where riders can ride motorcycles without a helmet.

Be aware that some municipalities within these states may have stricter helmet laws than the state.

If you ride without helmets in required areas, you may be charged or have your license suspended for a week.
